A Real Christmas (#139)
Bible version used: KJV
I don’t know how you feel about Christmas. There is a lot of artificiality in the air. Artificial trees, artificial gifts, artificial happiness.
Last year I was confronted with the REAL Christmas. I visited a terrific church and discovered that Jesus really is who He says He is: the Son of God. I discovered that He really came from heaven to earth to rescue us from our sins. I discovered that He gave His life as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He rose from the dead. I discovered that I was made for life with Christ.
I repented of my life without God. I confessed my sins. I asked God to forgive me for living so far from Him. I opened my heart to a new life in Jesus. I became best friends with God.
I never realized how dead and artifical my life was without Jesus. Now I have something REAL to celebrate this Christmas–my new life in Christ.
My new life is not easy. But it is filled with purpose. I discovered what a relief it is to walk with God. Every day I strive to be more like Christ. I fell in love with the family of God at my local church.
Another important purpose I have is to tell others about the REAL meaning of Christmas–a celebration of Christ’s coming to earth to rescue us. The most important gift I can give you in this season is to point you to Jesus and ask you to believe in Him like I did. Jesus is waiting for a response from you. This could be a REAL Christmas for you.
If you are ready to dump the artificial stuff of Christmas and discover what you were made for, visit a Bible-teaching church and ask your most important questions of those who gather there. You will be warmly welcomed.
He that believeth in the Son hath everlasting life.
John 3:36
