Good News (#84)
Bible version used: KJV
The Good News is that God is a loving God, concerned with every individual.
As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Ezekiel 33:11
The Good News is that in order to make himself known to us, God became one of us in Jesus Christ.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10,11
The Good News is that our guilt and sin and penalty are removed from our account by the sacrificial death of Jesus for us.
He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2
The Good News is that Jesus rose from the dead, and we now worship a living Christ.
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:4
The Good News is that God gives the free gift of a new life in Jesus to everyone who will believe on him.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
The Good News is that God gives us the desire and the power to be obedient to his will.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12
The Good News is that we become members of God’s family.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. Ephesians 2:19
All this is Good News when one realizes that we stand justly condemned before God. God has told us clearly that because he is a holy God, he hates sin and must punish it. Those who accept the payment made by Jesus are free. Those who reject this offer stand condemned.
Accept today this Good News of complete forgiveness and a new life in Jesus.
I accept Jesus Christ. I admit my sin. I promise to put God first in my life.
