How Do I Get Right With God? (#332)

the average person how to get right with God, and she will likely tell you to be a good person. The Bible describes a radically different plan. Goodness matters to God,
but it comes later.
Here is what the Bible says about your relationship with God.
God loves you and wants a relationship with you.
John 3:16 For God so loved
the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
Sin separates you from God.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Jesus came to restore that
relationship through his death
and resurrection.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
When you accept and believe in Jesus, you are fully reconciled with God--
now and for eternity.
Romans 10:9 If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
You can get right with God by
1. Admitting your sin.
2. Turning from your life without him.
3. Accepting the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for you.
4. Following Jesus in thankful obedience.
What to pray:
Jesus, I know that I am sinful. Please forgive me for living as though you never existed. I accept your sacrifice on the cross on my behalf. Help me now to follow you in thankful obedience. Amen
