Do you really believe that I'm going to Hell because I don't believe in Jesus?

Not exactly. You're going to Hell because you're a sinner.

Well, where does Jesus come in then?

He took your place.

You mean Jesus went to Hell for me?

Well, in a way. He took your penalty away when He suffered and died on the cross.

Why would He do that?

It's called love.

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His sons as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10
