Read the Instructions (#39)

Life is hard. Don’t go through it without reading the instructions. God, who made us and our world, also gave us a manual so we could know who He is, what is wrong with our world, and how we are made right with God. God’s manual for us is the Bible. Here is a sample of some of God’s instructions from the book of Romans.

Why is there so much suffering in our world?
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

What hope do I have in a world that is battered by sin and death?
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Given my sinful condition, is it possible to get right with God?
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

If I seek God, will He accept me?
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

How can I be saved from sin?
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

How then should I live?
Romans 12:1, 2 Therefore, I urge you, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The Bible is God’s manual for you. Don’t live a day without it!
