And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Can pay a sum of money in case of fire, but cannot prevent the fire nor bring back the possessions or persons destroyed.
So Jesus urges his followers: But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, here moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20

Can pay a sum of money to live on in your old age, but cannot prevent old age, nor guarantee you will live to reach it.
But God promises his followers: Even to you old age and gray hairs I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you: I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4

Can pay a sum of money in case of accident, but cannot prevent the accident nor the injuries that may result.
But God promises his followers: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2

Can pay a sum of money in case you become ill, but it cannot prevent these diseases nor stop the pain.
But God promises his followers: A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19
The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness. Psalm 41:3

Can pay a sum of money is case you are laid off, but cannot prevent that lay-off nor find another job nor make you happy in your work.
But God promises his followers: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matthew 6:25, 32

Can pay a sum of money in case of death, but it cannot insure your living nor ease your dying.
But God promises his followers: He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4

How can you have security in an insecure world?

1. Realize your present insecurity. All your possessions will be gone some day.

But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ Luke 12:20

2. Trust in God and give your life to him.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12
