Silly Religion (#83)
Bible version used: NIV
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but ot us who are being saved it is the power of God." Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 1:18
"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerend." Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 2:14
"But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentils, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is stronger than man's strength." Apostle Paul. 1 Corinthians 1:23-25
The foolishness of God made it possible for you and me to be saved.
God created people good and placed us in a perfect world.
When we turned our backs on God and decided to live without him, death entered our world.
God saw our rebellion, and in his mercy, sent his own son to take the punishment such sin demanded.
Jesus Christ is God's son, and he was given to us to make us right with God, to help us change and become new people. Although Jesus lived a sinless life, he died in our place, rose from the dead and now lives in heaven.
Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will be saved from God's punishment, and go to be with Jesus after death.
Those who do not believe will not see heaven, but spend eternity separated from God.
It's not unusual to stumble over God's offer of salvation. It is either the silliest thing you ever heard or the best thing you ever heard. These are just the facts. Accepting them or rejecting them determines your destiny.
