Tract Text:

HER CHILDREN ARISE UP, AND CALL HER BLESSED; HER HUSBAND ALSO, AND HE PRAISETH HER. Proverbs 31:28

The Bible says some very fine things about women, particularly about mothers.

Long ago there lived a godly woman who eventually became a great mother. Her name was Hannah. We read about her in 1 Samuel 1. Here are some of the things that made her an ideal mother:

1. She wanted to be a mother. Motherhood was the most beautiful and lofty calling she could have. She desired that more than anything else.

2. She prayed for a child. She prayed fervently and persistently with real faith in God. In time, God blessed her with a little boy.

3. She promised to give this child to the Lord. She vowed, “I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life.” 1 Samuel 1:11. Hannah knew that her baby was a gift from God, and so she named His Samuel, which means, “asked of God”.

4. She trained her son in the way of the Lord. She put Samuel first in her life. She gave her son time and taught him how to live. Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

5. She kept her promise in giving him to the Lord. That was not easy to do, but she trusted God to care for him. Nothing that we give to God is ever lost. And, to be sure, his mother’s prayers followed him wherever he went.

The influence of a mother on a child cannot be measured. Samuel became one of the most godly leaders to ever walk on this earth.
Only when a mother knows and follows the Lord is she able to teach her children to walk with God.
If you do not know the Lord, come to Him today. He will supply you with all you need to be an ideal mother.
A woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30
