You Can Count On It (#170)

#170 YOU CAN COUNT ON IT

Thanks to God’s laws of nature, you live in a world where you can count on things. Morning follows night, spring follows winter – you can count on it.

God also gives some important things you can count on in the Bible. Here are some facts from the Bible. How you deal with them determines your future.

• Disease, disaster and death are part of life because sin ruined a once-perfect world.

The wages of sin is death.... Romans 6:23

• Sin has ruined your relationship with God, and you are living under a death penalty if you do not get right with God.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. John 3:36

• It is impossible to get right with God by being good. While good behavior is important, you cannot count on it to earn heaven for you.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8, 9

• Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross to make you right with God forever. You can count on Jesus’ redemptive work on your behalf being completely satisfactory in the eyes of God.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. I John 4:10

• Jesus’ sacrifice has won heaven for all who believe.

In my Father’s house are many rooms...I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2, 3
