Are You Pro Choice? (#33)
Bible version used: KJV
ARE YOU PRO CHOICE?
I was. When I had an unwanted pregnancy, I chose to have an abortion, but now I wish I hadn’t.
I didn’t realize that I stopped a beating heart.
I didn’t realize how much guilt I would experience by aborting my baby.
I didn’t realize how many loving parents are desperately waiting to adopt a baby like mine.
I now know that abortion is not the answer to an unwanted pregnancy.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE: If you are facing an unwanted pregnancy, choose giving:
•Give life to your baby.
•Give your baby to adoptive parents. They are longing to have a child to love.
These are hard but wonderful choices you will never regret.
While I can never forget what I have done, I have found forgiveness and peace.
HAVE YOU HAD AN ABORTION?
You need to know that God loves you even if you had an abortion. He is your Father and will never turn you away. Turn to him and fall into his loving arms. God forgives all sin including this one and longs for you to become part of his family. God can make you whole again. Psalm 51:17 says: “A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
In the Gospel of John, Jesus describes the immense love of the Father: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3: 16, 17
I have a friend who loved me enough to tell me about Jesus: that he came to save us from our sins, that he died on the cross to pay the full penalty for all my sins, and that he rose again and lives today. Because of Jesus, I can be right with God—no matter what I have done. Because of my relationship with Jesus my life has meaning even on the hard days. I have never known such love or such peace.
YOUR MOST IMPORTANT CHOICE: Give your life to Jesus. He gave his life for you.
Open your heart to Jesus. Start with this simple prayer: Jesus, you know how my heart aches for the things I have done. Forgive me, and hold me close to you now and in the days ahead. Help me find a good Christian friend. Amen
