Silent Evangelist (#31)
Someone has once said
that life involves more than religion,
and religion involves more than Christianity,
and Christianity involves more than evangelism,
and evangelism involves more than gospel tract distribution.
Nevertheless, there is a role for gospel tract distribution,
at least by some Christians some of the time,
depending on circumstances and as the Lord leads.
Because there are people everywhere
who have not heard the Gospel message,
or have not heard it clearly,
or have not realized that it is a message meant for them.
And the Lord would like the message to be proclaimed
in large ways and in small ways,
in daily life as well as on Sundays,
with appropriate means for reaching people wherever the are,
even if it’s sometimes just with gospel tracts,
those silent little evangelists,
that point people to the Lord.
So, as Christians, whoever we are,
whether young or old or in between,
let us at least try to be alert to the possibilities and situations,
where a gospel tract might well be appropriate and worthwhile.

God has promised that His word will not return to Him void. You sow the seed and God will give the increase.
Ideas on How to Use Tracts:
1. Sponsor your own small tract rack. Ask permission to place a small tract rack in a store, restaurant, truck stop or other building and take time to keep it filled. Some youth groups have successfully sponsored small tract racks, and keep the racks filled with tracts that they stamped with the church address and telephone.
2. Put a tract in every piece of mail—bills, letters and cards. If you are sending mail to a Christian, include a tract that will encourage her in her walk with the Lord. Keep your tracts by the stamps as a reminder.
3. At restaurants, gas stations and stores—everytime you pay someone, include a tract.
4. Holidays and sporting events provide valuable opportunities to distribute tracts. Some give out tracts with candy at Halloween and Christmas; or go as a group to a festival or parade to distribute tracts.
5. Encourage the members of your church to use tracts by featuring a tract each month. One Sunday a month every member gets a tract in the bulletin or church newsletter with a notice that there are more available after the service.
